Meet Our Principal

Wendy has been dancing from the age of 3, starting with Ballet, then adding Tap, Modern and Jazz to her vocabulary. She took all grades and vocational exams with the RAD and ISTD.
Aged 21, Wendy's dance teacher suggested she takes on a teaching role, and to her surprise, she enjoyed it so much that she decided to enrol on the teacher training programmes in RAD Ballet, and ISTD Modern and Tap, completed her teaching qualifications, and set up her own dance school, originally known as the 'Wendy Burke School of Dance'.
Wendy has been teaching for over 32 years and now has the honour of mentoring trainee dance teachers for the Royal Academy of Dance with great success.

Wendy continues to learn, recently completing her certification in PBT (Progressing Ballet Techinque), the Silver Swans Syllabus, and is also a qualified Pointe Shoe Fitter.
Wendy loves to see young people progress and have the confidence to take on new ventures with their dancing. Wendy enjoys focussing on 1-1 coaching and mentoring with our more mature dancers, as they develop and take their next steps towards their career.
