Ballet

At GDA, we follow the most widely recognised and highly respected syllabi with the Royal Academy of Dance.

Ballet is recommended for all dance students; it not only benefits the dancer’s physical ability with strength, posture (therefore protecting the body), but it also teaches discipline and etiquette in the dance environment, which guides the student in everyday life as well.

Pre-Primary Ballet
4-6yrs

A gentle step on from our early classes, helping young dancers build on their basics in a fun and supportive way.

Primary Ballet
6-8yrs

A lovely next step for young dancers who are building on their early ballet training

Grade 1 Ballet
7-9yrs

A lovely class for dancers aged 7–9 who are starting to build on their ballet foundations.

Grade 2 Ballet
8-10yrs

A supportive class for dancers aged 8–10 who are continuing their ballet training through the grades. Most dancers will have some previous experience and be building on their foundations.

A supportive class for dancers aged 10–14 who are continuing their ballet training through the grades.

We focus on developing technique, strength, posture, and musicality, helping dancers grow in confidence and control as they progress.

Grade 2 & 3 Modern
8 - 12 years

At GDA, we follow one of the most widely recognised and highly respected syllabi with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance (ISTD).

Modern is a technical style of dance that follows structure and techniques to strengthen and align the dancer. It gives a very strong technical base for genres like Jazz and Contemporary, Commercial Street, and Acro.

This dynamic class blends expressive movement with technical precision, introducing students to the foundation of modern dance techniques

Tap

At GDA we follow one of the most widely recognised and highly respected syllabi with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance (ISTD).

Tap is a fascinating genre and an incredible skill to learn. Not only is it extremely fun, but it also benefits the dancer’s physical strength and balance.

It is a fabulous form of exercise and really gets the heart pumping, as well as being a brilliant mental exercise with all of the rhythms, quick thinking and intricate foot isolations.

Grade 1 Tap
7 - 10 years

A fun and engaging class for dancers aged 7–10 who are starting to build their tap skills. Perfect for those moving up from beginner level or with a little experience already.

Grade 2 Tap
9 - 11 years

A fun and focused class for dancers aged 9–11 who are building on their tap skills. Most dancers will have some previous experience or have worked through earlier grades.

Acro

At GDA, we follow the worldwide syllabus from Acrobatic Arts. Our structured training is highly effective and, most importantly, it is safe!

It teaches progressively and focuses strongly on strength and flexibility, while also acknowledging the age of the student’s body, as the maturity of the body will determine what is safe or not. We absolutely will not teach something that is not safe, no matter how much the child wants to achieve what they have seen on YouTube or TikTok!

Level 1-2 Acro
6-12yrs

Based on ability more than age, level 1 introduces foundational skills, while Level 2 builds on these with more advanced tricks and transitions

Level 2-5 Acro
6-15yrs

Based on ability more than age, these sessions focus on strength, flexibility, and mastering advanced tricks and transitions

Level 5+ Acro
9-18yrs

Based on ability more than age, this class focuses on advanced acrobatic skills, complex tricks, and seamless transitions, with an emphasis on strength, flexibility, and precision

Junior Jazz
5 - 11 years

A vibrant and exciting class for younger dancers, Junior Jazz focuses on developing technique, flexibility, and style through upbeat choreography.

Jazz is a fascinating genre with a lot of history, and within the bracket of 'Jazz' are many styles.

We think it is important for the dancer to explore as many as possible, along with the history of this fabulous art form.

Jazz teaches many different skills such as technique, posture, expression, energy, power, control, to travel the stage, to perform with facials, and capture their audience with all round entertainment, just to name a few!

Junior Lyrical & Contemporary
5 -11 years

This expressive class introduces young dancers to the beautiful blend of lyrical and contemporary styles. Focusing on fluid movement, storytelling, and emotional expression, it encourages creativity while developing technique and flexibility.

Musical Theatre
6 - 11 years

A fun and lively class for children who love to sing, dance, and perform. Dancers will learn routines inspired by musicals, building confidence, coordination, and stage presence along the way.

It’s a great space to grow in confidence, make friends, and enjoy being part of a team while bringing characters and stories to life.

Street Kidz
5 - 10 years

A fun, high-energy class for younger dancers who love to move and express themselves. Dancers will learn street-style routines while building coordination, confidence, and rhythm in a relaxed, upbeat environment.

It’s all about enjoying the music, bringing out their personality, and having fun while learning something new.
